So be prepared and watch the movie first, as there are spoilers!
If you’ve watched the movie, you’ll know about the adventure and the thrill of watching such fantastic stuff! This movie was a blockbuster, for sure! From ratings to reviews, everyone was raving. The real-life escape rooms but with the thrill of death/dying if you do not complete it. But we did not know that one person was supposed to die in every single round of the game/room is an elaborate trap for life & death in this movie. The rooms’ aesthetics are designed similarly to Rush Escape Rooms. Do check them out if you can! But the premise is kind of deceiving but fascinating at the same time. We can talk about the movie all we want, but as everyone learns something from everything here, we would like to discuss some life lessons from this movie. Let’s get the real taste of essence from it.
Following are the seven life lessons that we learned from the movie:
- EMERGENCY SITUATIONS:
The learning to manage, handle, and go through life-or-death situations thoroughly with a calm mind is a lesson to be understood, as those who did not play with their minds died! Handling emergencies is an art everyone comes to learn with time and experience. When they know that each of them has to die in one place or another, they are left with no choice but to escape!
- REAL LIFE CRISIS:
The choice of saving someone or killing someone depends on the fact that you have a choice to make! Either they are left to die, or they live! One learns to face the dilemma of real life and how to make moral choices when time is running out, and they are stuck in a life-threatening game!
- TRUSTING CORPORATIONS:
Towards the end, we get to know that it’s a large corporate organization that organizes these escape room quests every single year with people who have something in similar or common in life, and these games are life-threatening as rich people are betting on them for the deciding factor for who will win at the end, which is a very twisted and psychotic way of putting together a game. They don’t care about those people and their lives. These six people had something in common they were the sole survivors of several accidents & that’s why they had been lured in by the company in exchange for fake $10 000 prize money. These people didn’t even know that they were about to die and were being betted on to see who was the “luckiest” but were killed anyway. The sole survivors left were Danny and Zoey, who couldn’t even find the evidence of all of it for police to catch them as it vanished into thin air. It breaks ordinary people’s trust in these organizations and teaches you to collect & carry evidence continuously!
- FEAR OF LOSS:
Each time a person dies in the movie, we learn how fragile life is and how easily people can pass by one mistake or, in this case, by several “traps” that were being set up for each escape room in the movie! We learned the fear of death and, thus, the value of each breath.
- ESCAPE ROOM STRATEGIES:
There were a lot of strategies to learn from this. These escape rooms were built upon their past accidents and traumas that they’ve survived, so they already had a system to get out of the game. Only if the dedicated escape room had a genuine survivor to decode was this strategy working until they realized that only one could escape and live.
- HUMANITY/FRIENDSHIP:
In the starting. Everyone was dedicated to saving each other in the room in the heated oven escape room as it became life-threatening fast. And with the movie progresses, everyone is helping people escape and trying to save lives, and grieving over life being lost teaches us how to work in a group setting and combine. It also shows the value of humanity and friendship between people and how important it is to save others, even in the worst situations.
- VIGILANTE MENTALITY:
In the end, Danny and Zoey could not prove to the police how it happened to them without any evidence being found. Since then, they have taken matters into their own hands to fight for justice and save other lives who have died like this and were named accident as the cause of death. They become vigilantes who want to fight even without the help of the law. This teaches us the power of self-belief and the thirst for justice, as the police could not help them. They were forced to do it on their own. This teaches us that we should always help people and try to understand them even if it is hard.
I guess we’d like to say that these lessons are interconnected, as so is life in every sense, way, or form. But the critical part is how to manage it. I guess that’s what we learn from this movie! And almost every other film of this same type lives an action thriller where lives are at stake! But this feels super real for some reason as it can happen to any ordinary man as escape rooms are pretty phenomenally common, and the fear that some of these things might be true somehow and can happen as some imaginations and ideas that we get from the movies can run wild and turn and develop into reality. But for more fun, watch some fantastic escape rooms like Red Door escape rooms, or just watch part 2 of the movie for the thrill. Lastly, let us know your thoughts in the comments below & be safe!
